It is especially important to realise that an FM aerial is not suited to digital reception. Portable radios generally have a built-in aerial. To listen to digital radio at home, a good interior aerial or – even better – an exterior aerial, is recommended.
As digital radio is broadcast on VHF band III in Switzerland, a band III TV aerial can be used, with the vertical polarisation set for digital reception. DAB car radios also require a DAB aerial, as most of the FM aerials that are fitted to cars as standard do not permit digital reception.
